SureFire rewrote the rules for thread-on suppressors when it introduced the SF RYDER series with the SF RYDER 22 in 2014. The SF RYDER 9-Ti2 delivers next-generation performance by offering more than mere weight savings. With its patented baffle design, the SF-RYDER 9-Ti2 substantially reduces sound at the shooter’s ear by an astounding 28 dB* when compared to an unsuppressed weapon. It helps to preserve hearing and reduce environmental noise at the range or in the field, and it’s also a perfect tool for introducing beginners to pistol shooting. Reduced sound allows for easier communication between shooter and instructor, and reduced recoil allows the shooter to focus on technique with less intimidation. For experienced operators, the SF RYDER 9-Ti2 delivers extreme accuracy with minimal and consistent point-of-aim, point-of-impact shift. Conventional wisdom is “the larger the muffler, the quieter the sound,” but the SF RYDER 9-Ti2 measures 1 1/4” in diameter while delivering greater sound attenuation than many 1 3/8” diameter suppressors on the market. SureFire’s efficient baffle performance yields a slimmer, sleeker suppressor that gives the shooter the option of using lower sights — and in many applications there’s no need to swap out sights to compensate for an obstructed line of sight, a typical drawback when mounting a suppressor on a pistol.
The SF RYDER 9-Ti 2 takes the proven performance and reliability of its predecessor, the SF RYDER 9-Ti, to the next level. SureFire Suppressor Division engineers have made small yet substantive changes to improve upon the tremendous accuracy and durability of the original. Military-grade titanium is used to form its attractive, fluted outer tube, which is more rigid than the previous model, ensuring concentricity. Titanium is also the material of choice for the front plate and rear cap. The entire unit weighs a scant 10.7 ounces, maintaining its place among the lightest suppressors in its class. It’s light enough to minimize effects on weapon handling, which makes for an easier adjustment by the shooter. Shoot a few rounds through it and you probably won’t realize it’s there. At the same time, it delivers full auto-rated durability. You can count on the SF RYDER 9-Ti2 to provide reliable service in the harshest environments.
Inside, the SF RYDER 9-Ti2’s heat-treated, U.S. mill-certified stainless-steel baffles feature a redesigned interface. It’s even more precise than before and provides a tight seal that prevents carbon buildup between the baffles and the outer tube. This fouling can make other suppressors difficult if not impossible to disassemble after heavy use, but it’s a non-issue with the SF RYDER 9-Ti2. A revised proprietary booster also contributes to stricter suppressor alignment and greater reliability. The booster’s anti-friction coating also reduces carbon buildup for consistent high performance, round after round.
Cleaning and maintaining the SF RYDER 9-Ti2 is almost as enjoyable as shooting with it. SureFire paid attention to the details and kept things simple by indexing and numbering the baffles so the suppressor goes back together the same way it comes apart, every time. You simply can’t put it together wrong, and every SF RYDER suppressor even includes a tool for easy takedown and assembly. SureFire’s precision single-point cut threads provide quick, secure attachment to ½ x 28 or M13.5 x 1 LH threaded barrels (depending on the model), and numerical indexing system on the rear assures repeatable mounting every time. That means that the SF RYDER 9-Ti2 can be removed and then reinstalled without disturbing its zero.
SureFire also offers an accessory SF Ryder 9 Fixed Barrel Spacer for use when firing the SF RYDER 9-Ti2 on fixed-barrel firearms such as 9 mm carbines and rifles. This machined stainless steel spacer and short spring restricts the movement of the suppressor for increased reliability and inherent accuracy when firing suppressed. Simply replace the provided booster spring that ships standard with the suppressor and swap it for the fixed barrel spacer.
