ABOUT ROBERT VOGEL
Robert Vogel is a professional marksman, competition shooter, and National/World champion. He is the only Law Enforcement Officer ever to win the World and National Championships in the Practical Pistol Disciplines of IPSC, IDPA, and USPSA.

Robert was born and raised on a farm in rural Saint Mary’s, Ohio where he became heavily involved in shooting, hunting, and the outdoors from a very young age. After graduating high school he went immediately into a 2-year Police Academy program. It was also at this time that he began competing in practical shooting competitions. Fast forward a couple of decades and at present, Robert is now a 3-time world champion and 24-time national champion across 3 disciplines of practical/combat shooting and has been all over the World competing and teaching.  Besides this, he has been a Police Officer for over 15 years. Eight and a half of those years were spent as a full-time street cop while also being a member of the county’s joint-department SWAT team. During that tenure, he also served as a firearm instructor for both the department and the SWAT team.

Some other of Roberts highlights/experiences include:
-Police Academy Valedictorian
-Overall winner of over 100+ State, National, and World Championship matches
-a 4-Time member of USA Men’s IPSC Gold team (Indonesia, Greece, Florida, France)
-Has shot matches and conducted classes/demonstrations in over 35 states and 15 foreign countries
-First Law Enforcement Officer of any kind to win a USPSA  Handgun Nationals and an IPSC World Shoot
-Holds an unprecedented record of winning a combined 20 straight IDPA National, Indoor National, and World Championships
-Is the only person to have won the Open “Professional” division at the National level Pro-Am match with an iron-sighted limited division pistol
-Has been featured as a guest “Expert” on the History Channel show “Top Shot”
-Is featured in 3 instructional DVDs
-Has a “Vogel Trigger system” and “World Champion” sights available for Glock Pistols
-Has written numerous articles for nationally publicized gun magazines

Along with all this, Robert has a deep and undying passion for excellence in shooting.  While capable of having both a competitive and tactical point of view he is always trying to stay on the cutting edge of what is happening in the shooting world.  He strives hard to maintain a realistic approach to everything and believes strongly the most important skill is “performance when it counts.”  In May 2012 Robert left full-time Law Enforcement in order to focus more on his shooting/instructing career. He continues in Law Enforcement, though as a “Reserve” Officer.
